I need to rent a wheelchair. How do I choose the right size?
To make sure you receive the correct size when you rent pediatric wheelchair rome, simply provide the patient's height and weight when placing your order. We carry wheelchairs with seat widths ranging from approximately 14 to 24 inches (35–60 cm).
Will the wheelchair fit in the elevator?
A standard-size wheelchair, suitable for an adult patient of average build (approx. 5'9" / 175 lbs), has a maximum width of about 27.5 inches (70 cm). If your elevator door is narrower than this, you will need to rent our narrow-passage wheelchair model.
How do I fold and load the wheelchair into a car?
All of our wheelchairs can be folded with a simple motion of the seat, making them easy to load into a car and store at home without taking up unnecessary space.
Can I help the patient transfer out of the wheelchair without having them stand up?
Yes! Because our wheelchairs feature flip-up armrests, you can raise both side armrests and slide the patient laterally off the seat. This is an especially important feature for patients with limited mobility, allowing them to transfer safely and comfortably.
Are your wheelchairs suitable for both indoor and outdoor use?
All of our wheelchairs can be used indoors and outdoors. For indoor environments, we recommend letting our operator know in advance if there are particularly narrow hallways, doorways, or elevators — so we can deliver the right size chair for your needs.
Are footrests included with the pediatric wheelchair?
The pediatric wheelchair comes standard with footrests and leg-rest supports, which are essential when the patient needs to keep one or both legs extended during use.
