Even with the equipped route, the site sits on ancient ground: a sturdy wheelchair with a companion or a large-wheeled scooter is preferable. Lightweight wheelchairs are not recommended.

Accessible Directions

From Termini Station: Take Metro Line B to “Colosseo” (elevator-equipped station); the entrance is just a short distance away. Visitors asking whether the site is wheelchair friendly will be pleased to know the metro stop itself is fully accessible.

From Fiumicino / Ciampino Airport: Connect to Termini Station, then take Metro Line B; a door-to-door accessible transfer is also available as an alternative.

From Civitavecchia (Cruise Port): Take the train to Rome and connect to Metro Line B, or arrange a direct accessible transfer service.
