What to Check Before You Book

Before confirming any apartment, put these questions to the host in writing — via the platform’s messaging system, so you have a clear record:

1. Is there a lift? What are the internal dimensions of the cabin? — A four-wheeled mobility scooter requires at least 100×140 cm. A compact wheelchair needs a minimum of 80×100 cm.
2. Is the entrance from the street step-free? — Even a single step can be a problem. Ask whether a ramp is available.
3. Can someone be present at the time of delivery? — VemRent needs to coordinate the delivery slot with the host. If the host is unreachable, delivery cannot go ahead.
4. Is there a secure indoor space to store the equipment overnight? — A storeroom, communal area, or garage. The aid cannot be left outside.
5. Are the internal doorways wide enough? — A wheelchair requires at least 80 cm of clear width. A four-wheeled mobility scooter may need 90–100 cm.

A host who responds promptly and precisely to these questions is already a good sign. A vague host who has never considered these points is a risk.
