The monument
The Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill are the heart of ancient Rome—temples, basilicas, the house of Augustus—and are part of the Colosseum Archaeological Park (a combined ticket with the Colosseum).
Accessibility and concessions
- Free entry For the disabled person and their companion, without reservation, with certification at the ticket office.
- “Barrier-Free” Path over 1,2 km long with smooth pavement, designed for wheelchairs.
- Accessible entrance from Largo della Salara Vecchia 6 (Via dei Fori Imperiali), with a lift that overcomes the difference in height of approximately 6,5 m; another lift at the Arch of Titus.
- Accessible restrooms are available. There are still areas with ancient and uneven terrain outside the accessible trail.
What aid do we recommend for this visit?
Even with the equipped trail, the site is on ancient terrain: a sturdy wheelchair with an attendant or a large-wheeled scooter is best. Lightweight wheelchairs are not recommended.
